It's been a successful year for Blackberry in 2007. They have released the Blackberry 8800 series, Curve series, Pearl series and Pearl 2 series. For this year 2008, I visited the Blackberry booth during the CES show in Las Vegas. Unfortunately, there is no blackberry devices are on the official roadmap yet. However, they are going to release 2 newly colored Pearl 2 soon.
The Blackberry 8130 also know as the Pearl 2 was released late Dec, 2007 from Verizon and in Jan, 2008 from Sprint. The Verizon version is in White and the Sprint version are in graphite color. Rumors are actually all over the internet saying there are new colors from the Blackberry for the 8130. Now, I saw a brand new color that had been shown during the CES 2008. A Pink version of Pearl 2 and a Red version of Pearl 2 are releasing during Valentine's day.

There is not going to be any hardware upgrade on these 2 new blackberries. It will only change the color of the housing similar to the Pearl that is going on in T-Mobile. One same phone and it has 4-5 different colors you can choose from. I would say this is their marketing strategy to release these girly color around the Valentine's Day period.

More than that, Blackberry is hiring a famous tattoo artist, Scott Campbell, to create a graphic for the Blackberries. During the show, they have the Scott Campbell sticker giving out for free. On the above pictures, you can see the drawings which is created by Scott Campbell. Of course, these stickers are only the promotional products. Later on, they will be deciding how to put his logo on the Blackberry products. If that is released, the Blackberry will be very into consumer levels.
