MacWorld 2008 is officially over. This is my first year at Macworld and it was "kind of" excited. The full name of the Macworld is "Macworld conference and Expo". I think it is soooo different than CES.
What I see:
Of course, Steve Jobs keynotes on the first day. Everybody is expecting a new phone is going to be announced this time. However, we've got nothing. What we have this time is a MacBook Air. The thinnest laptop. But pricing?? $1800 !!!
Other than the Keynotes, you can see a lot of educational conferences like Digital photos, podcast, etc. It doesn't like CES that you will see all kinds of new products releasing. It actually like a conference hall with a flea market together.
Macworld is opened to public. You can go in anytime you want, as long as you pay for the entrance. Once you go into the main hall, of course, you see the huge Apple booth. What they are showing is the new Air and iPhones. And then, the other big names that you can see are Cannon, Nikon, etc. Digital photography. The rest?? Most of them are accessories for iPhone. You can see Belkin showing off their cases as well as some small overseas companies showing their little iPhone projects. Most of them are speakers systems and cases for the iPhone.
The reason I said it is a flea market is because they are allowed to sell their products right there. People are asking for show specials and on the last day, people are asking for more discount.
Overall, the Macworld is fun to learn and great for consumers to see all the accessories at one time. The most important thing is to see the latest products from Apple that full of surprises and disappointments.
I will filter out some of the new accessories that I saw from the show. Please stay tune.
