For people who would like to get a new iPhone with a lower price, the time is coming. AT&T is going to offer a $200 rebate for new customer signing up a 2-year contract. It will be happening in May.
The reason for the price cut is to welcome the new 3G iPhone that coming on June 27th, which is the one year anniversary of the original iPhone release date. The new 3G iPhone is scheduled to have 2 versions, 8GB and 16GB. The size is 2.5mm thinner than the original 11.7mm. The price for the 3G iphone will be $399 and $499 for 8GB and 16GB respectively. As reported and expected, the new iPhone will be "LOCKED" and "PROGRAMED" so that, users cannot take to anywhere else. (But we know Jailbreak and unlocking will be available at anytime. See ziphone or anySIM will be faster)
Keep it in mind that the $200 rebate will only be available from AT&T store.
